The silence's psychological factors of the People living with AIDS ( PLWA ) about their seropositivity at LONLONYO association centre.

Background: In the right way of tendering activities towards PLWA at LONLONYO centre, we picked up and surveyed a 43 members group during the tracking down pre-test counsel, who accepted to conty the result at their test to a close person. The proves to be positive for fourteen (14 ) 32,35 %. We have noticed that only two(2) persons over the fourteen managed to put a close person in the privy of their seropositivity. Then, pop of up the problem of factor that determine the silence of PLWA about their  seropositivity.

Our objectives in this work are to :

-Identity the elements of the daily living of PLWA concerning their health state

-Identity the difficulties met by the PLWA in TOGO

-Identity the negative attitudes of PLWA's neighbourhood

-Assess the relation clue between the PLWA 's refusal to conty to somebody and his/her neighbourhood's attitude.

Material and Methods: The counselling and tendering center at LONLONYO association is located in the 2nd sanitary district of Lome - Commune . Our study bears on candidates that have undergone the tracking down HIV test at the centre in the September to December 2002 period . Over 390 effective tests, 115 result proved to be positive, being 29,49 %. Those 115 PLWA become our study population. Unfortunately due to the great number , some relational contact and technique constraints didn't allows us to collect data from all this population as we would wish to do it. On the whole, fifty (50) PLWA stayed in touch with us in the frame at our work. This subjects constitute our sample and make up to 43,48% at our study population; men up to 28,95% and women up to 50,65%.

Results:

-78% at our sample are females and 22% are males

-The average age at the sample is 35 years

-The self - achieved processions are highly represented with 58%

-They are run up by the house maids and the non-employed that make up to 38%

-The singles make up to 40% in the sample, the married and empower the practiciam's capacity in psychology for a better psychological assistance to the PLWA.

-Not to abuse the vulnerability, and despair of PLWA by giving them false hope of healing

-Bring the PLWA to operate a real overstepping of difficulties in heren't to their seropositivity

-Prompt the PLWA to quickly turn to the qualified services for the needs inherent to their seropositivity.

Conclusion: This work helped us to partially explorate the duly living of the PLWA. We come to identify the subjective and social factors that determine the PLWA's rehictance to talk about their serposivity.
