European Hospital, Marseille, France

Christina Psomas, MD PhD, is an Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine specialist at the European Hospital of Marseille. Her areas of Clinical and Translational Research focus on the role of persistent immune activation in People Living With HIV (PLWHIV) and its responsibility in Non-Communicable Diseases observed in this population. She is the Principal Investigator of many French and European studies on cardiovascular disease, liver steatosis, metabolic syndrome, frailty and cancer in PLWHIV under suppressive ART regimens. Understanding patterns of immune activation in PLWHIV could help us understand susceptibility in each one of these comorbidities and pave the way to Personalised Medicine in this population.
